What is accountability in research?

The ATLAS discussion on Accountability (in Research) has been extended and will now close in three days, so SIA contributors and subscribers who have not yet taken part still have time to share their perspective.

ATLAS is SIA’s open encyclopedia of research integrity terms and concepts, and each entry is tested by people working across disciplines and countries before it is updated. We are asking one question: how much do you agree with the ATLAS definition, context and example of Accountability (in Research), and how would you improve them? Responding takes two to four minutes and is fully anonymous, and you can read how others answered, react to their reasoning and revise your own position until the round closes.

NISO invites comment on draft accessibility remediation metadata standard

NISO has opened public comment on its draft Accessibility Remediation Metadata (ARM) standard, NISO Z39.107-202x, and is accepting feedback until November 9, 2026. The standard offers a shared vocabulary for describing how, and to what extent, a book, article, video or other resource has been altered to make it accessible to people with disabilities, so that libraries, universities and publishers can find and share remediated versions instead of repeating the same work. The draft, the comment form and the comments received so far are all on the working group page: https://www.niso.org/standards-committees/arm
