Made to measure: how do we responsibly monitor and assess Open Science? 25/09/16

Join us in Geneva the 16th of September 2025 at the Open Science Fair for this panel! As Open Science policies multiply, how do we know if they’re working? This panel brings together global leaders to explore emerging frameworks, indicators, and tools for tracking Open Science adoption and impact. From national monitors to institutional pilots, we’ll examine how to move beyond metrics that oversimplify—and toward evidence that informs, includes, and drives meaningful change. https://www.opensciencefair.eu/panels/made-to-measure-how-do-we-responsibly-monitor-and-assess-open-science

Join Our Advisory Board Member David Mellor for TOP Guidelines Presentation

🤩 Exciting news from our Advisory Board member David Mellor! Just a few days until the Metascience 2025 Conference kicks off with a presentation about the updated TOP Guidelines.

❓What is TOP? The Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines were created by journals, funders, and societies to align scientific ideals with practices. TOP 2025 provides a comprehensive suite of tools to increase the verifiability of research claims through seven Research Practices, two Verification Practices, and four Verification Study types. The updated framework offers flexibility for journals, publishers, funders, and institutions to implement transparency standards at three levels (Disclose, Share and Cite, or Certify) while establishing community-wide standards for research integrity.

💯 This represents a significant advancement in open science practices that directly supports our mission at the Science Integrity Alliance.

Association for Interdisciplinary Meta-research and Open Science (AIMOS) 2025 Conference

We are excited to announce that the Association for Interdisciplinary Meta-research and Open Science (AIMOS) is engaging in an exciting partnership with the Evidence, Policy, and Influence Collaborative (EPIC) at the University of Sydney to spotlight commercial determinants of health at AIMOS 2025, the seventh annual AIMOS conference.

http://aimosconference.com/

The purpose of AIMOS is to make the research process more trustworthy and efficient, and to promote the study of how research is done and how it can be improved. Our annual conference is an important collaborative space that advances this purpose. At AIMOS 2025, speakers and sessions will explore both the metaresearch issues we are known for, as well as the influences of commercial determinants of health, policy responses, and solutions to address these biases.

Please keep a lookout for the call for submissions later this year.
